Manatee County Service Area

Manatee County's seat is Bradenton, and our office is in it. That makes this the county our Gulf-coast crews know best and reach fastest.

The county's shape does something useful for the housing on it. Anna Maria Island runs along the front of Manatee, taking the direct Gulf weather, and the mainland shoreline sits behind it in comparative shelter. The result is two quite different sets of conditions within a short drive. On the island, roofs contend with unbroken salt-laden wind off open water, and the fixings — fasteners, flashing, drip edge, vent collars — corrode considerably faster than the covering wears out. Behind the island, on the Bradenton mainland, the exposure eases and roofs age closer to a normal coastal pattern.

Tile is common across much of the county's newer development, and tile brings its own considerations: the underlayment beneath it usually fails long before the tile does, so a roof that looks intact from the street can be well past its useful life underneath.
