Orange County Service Area
Orange County is where most of our work outside Lake County happens, and it holds more of our town pages than anywhere else — Orlando, Winter Park, Maitland, Apopka, Winter Garden and Windermere all sit inside this one county line.
The seat is Orlando. The fact that shapes a job here, though, has nothing to do with geography and everything to do with jurisdiction: Orange County is not one permitting authority, it is seven. Each of those six municipalities operates an independent building department, sets its own fees, and runs its own inspection calendar. Only addresses in unincorporated Orange County are handled by the county. An Apopka reroof and a Winter Park reroof are, administratively, two different jobs filed with two different offices — and a contractor who files with the wrong one does not get told quickly. The job simply sits.
That fragmentation is the single most useful thing to understand about working here, and it is why we confirm your municipality before quoting a timeline rather than after.
The building stock varies as much as the paperwork. Winter Park and Maitland carry a lot of older housing with the complications that brings around chimneys, dormers and additions layered over decades. Windermere and Winter Garden skew newer and larger, with more tile and steeper pitches. Apopka and the northern edge run more mixed. Same county, same crews, genuinely different roofs.
One naming point stated plainly, because we get the call regularly: Orange County is not Orange City.

Is Orange County the same place as Orange City?
No, and the names catch people constantly. Orange County contains Orlando. Orange City is a separate town roughly 30 miles north east in Volusia County, covered by a different Noland's office on a different number. If you meant the town, use the Orange City page.
Who actually issues my roof permit here?
Your municipality, in most cases. Orlando, Winter Park, Maitland, Apopka, Winter Garden and Windermere each run their own building department with their own fees and inspection scheduling. Only unincorporated addresses go to Orange County itself.
