The finish is a Sherwin-Williams PVDF coating in a wide color range. Steel or aluminum? Two things decide it
Most metal roofing pages let you pick a colour and stop there. The manufacturer’s own specification logic turns on two questions about your specific address, and both change what we can install.
1. How close are you to salt water?
Guardian specifies aluminum panels within 1,500 feet of salt or brackish water, for corrosion resistance. Outside that band, PVDF/Kynar-coated steel is the usual call. 2. What is your roof sheathed with?

A note on Miami-Dade and Broward
Homes in Florida’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone require approval codes specifically designated HVHZ — a general Florida Product Approval is not the same document. That is outside our service area, but if a contractor quotes you a metal system down there, the HVHZ designation is the thing to ask for in writing.
