Gutter replacement in Panama City after Hurricane Michael
In Panama City, the gutter on the house is often older than the roof above it. Hurricane Michael made landfall on October 10, 2018, as a Category 5 with 161 mph winds near Mexico Beach and Tyndall Air Force Base. The National Weather Service in Tallahassee and the National Hurricane Center's report documented catastrophic damage in Bay County. Sources: weather.gov/tae/HurricaneMichael2018 and the Michael tropical cyclone report.
Roofs across Bay County were replaced in the years after that landfall. The gutter that hung on the old fascia was often left in place, sectional, and now leaking at every seam. We replace those runs with seamless 6-inch aluminum and 3x4 downspouts, and we add guards where trees have grown back over the eave. Capacity numbers are on Pensacola gutters and the guards guide.
There is no Panhandle office. Call (352) 242-4322. The Panama City overview is the roofing page. Fascia that took the overflow is soffit and fascia repair.

Gutters in Panama City — common questions
What should I know about Hurricane Michael and gutters?
Michael made landfall on October 10, 2018, as a Category 5 at 161 mph near Mexico Beach and Tyndall Air Force Base. The National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center documented catastrophic damage in Bay County. Roofs were replaced widely. Gutters often were not.
Do you have a Panama City office?
No. There is no Panhandle office. Call (352) 242-4322.
What size do you suggest?
6-inch seamless aluminum and 3x4 downspouts. The gallon-per-minute comparison is on the Pensacola gutter page.
Can the fascia from that era still hold a gutter?
Sometimes not. We look at the board before we hang new metal. Soft wood is a fascia repair, not a hanger problem.
